Terms
The short version of what you agree to by using Convertado.
Last updated 25 August 2026.
Who you are dealing with
Convertado is operated by Convertado. Using the site, the installed app or the API means accepting these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use it.
What you may use it for
Convert your own files, or files you have the right to convert. You may not use it to process material you have no right to, to break the law, or to attack the service or anybody through it.
You keep every right in your files. We claim no licence over anything you convert or store. We do not read your files, train anything on them, or show them to anyone.
Limits
Free use is metered so that one person cannot consume the capacity of everyone else: 3 conversions a day without an account, 15 with a free one, and higher allowances on the paid plans. The current limits are shown on the pricing page, which is the authoritative list.
Automated use goes through the API with a key, is metered by compute consumed, and is rate-limited. Scripting the website to work around API metering is not permitted, and is the one thing here that will get an account suspended without warning.
Paying
- Subscriptions are billed in advance by Stripe, and renew until you cancel.
- Cancelling stops the next payment and leaves your plan active to the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Metered API usage is billed for what was actually consumed. A conversion that fails is not charged for.
- Prices can change with notice; a change never applies to a period already paid.
- Contributions on the support page are voluntary, buy nothing, and are not refundable — because nothing was sold.
Refunds
If the service did not do what it said it would, write to us and we will refund you. We would rather do that than argue about it.
Your files, and their deletion
Files that reach our servers are deleted on the schedule set out in the privacy policy. Deleting your account deletes your files. Keep your own copy of anything you care about — this is a converter, not a backup service, and it is not designed to be the only place a file exists.
Availability
This runs on one machine and is maintained by a small team. There is no uptime guarantee. We will not deliberately break things, but we do not promise the service is available at any given moment, and you should not build something that stops working if it is not.
Liability
The service is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost files, lost profit, or anything else that follows from using it — and in any case our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.
Ending it
You can stop and delete your account at any time from your account page. We can suspend an account that is breaking these terms, and will say why unless the law stops us.
Changes
These terms can change. The date at the top says when they last did. Continuing to use the service after a change means accepting it; if you do not, cancel and stop.
